Amy Regas has committed her career to helping marginalized populations to secure the fundamental protections that lead to a secure sense of place, identity and belonging. She is responsible for managing programs, establishing partnerships, and for finance and administration at PLACE.
Amy brings 25 years of expertise in property rights and international development. As a director on Omidyar Network’s property rights and geospatial team, Amy supported organizations that provide and protect people’s property rights through technology innovation and scalable service delivery models. At Tetra Tech, she was responsible for delivering large-scale programs including the Colombia Land and Rural Development project, which improved Colombian lives through land formalization, restitution and rural public private partnerships and the global Strengthening Tenure and Resource Rights initiative implementing targeted interventions, developing tools, and conducting research and training to strengthen property rights and resource governance.
As a land specialist for the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Amy conducted due diligence, and provided project design expertise, technical assistance, and supervision to projects throughout Latin America and Africa that aimed to strengthen property rights as a key element for investment and economic development. At Chemonics International, she managed multi-disciplinary activities focused on strengthening property rights, improving public sector administration, protecting the environment, and enhancing livelihoods through agriculture.
Amy received a post-graduate diploma in land management and informal settlement regularization from the Lincoln Land Institute and the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies and an M.A. in international affairs from The George Washington University.
